Fair Trade Certified USDA Fair Trade Certified Kosher Certified by QAI Rooibos is a mild, reddish-brown tea rich in antioxidants. Naturally caffeine-free, this slightly sweet and nutty brew can be enjoyed any time. Botanical name: Aspalathus linearis Rooibos (pronounced "roy-boss") is a broom-like member of the legume family of plants. It is made from the dried, oxidized young leaves and branches of Aspalathus linearis. Rooibos (translated from Afrikaans) means "red bush", which is why the tea is often refered to as bush tea or red tea. Used for centuries in South Africa, Rooibos is becoming more popular in Europe and the United States because of its lack of caffeine and smooth, mild flavor. Rooibos is cultivated in the Cederberg region, which is a mountainous area north of Cape Town South Africa
